He was born in Trikala, Thessalia.
In 1978, he graduated from the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
As part of his specialty training, he worked in general surgery at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens for a year and in gynecology at the G. Gennimatas General Hospital of Athens for another year.
From 1985 to 1988, he continued his residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at the 1st Obstetrics and Gynecology University Clinic, Alexandra Hospital.
From 1989 to 1990, he attended postgraduate training in IVF, fertility, infertility and endoscopic surgery at Hammersmith Hospital, London, under the guidance of Professor Sir Robert Winston.
In 1991, upon returning to Greece, he worked as an IVF physician at MITERA Maternity Hospital.
From 1992 to 1996, he served as an associate at a private IVF Unit, the Gynecology and Assisted Reproduction Institute, of Mr. V. Kontopoulos, MD.
From 1996 to 1997, he worked at the newly established IASO Hospital Institute of Life IVF Unit.
In 1998, he became the co-founder and co-owner of the IVF and Genetics Fertility Clinic. Over 17 years, he performed a large number of ovarian stimulations, egg retrievals, embryo transfers, inseminations, natural and semi-natural cycles.
Since 2017, he has been an associate at the IASO Hospital Institute of Life IVF Center.
