Doctor Ioannis Gryparis was born in Zakynthos island and completed his studies in the French-Greek school “Lycee Leonin” in Athens. He is married to Visvardi Kyriaki since 2007 and the following year the birth of a son came to replenish their family.
He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2002. Later he completed his military service by joining the Hellenic Air Force, serving as a sergeant doctor.
He has worked in Zakynthos as a medical doctor in his early years after graduating from the University (Medical Officer, Senior House Officer) and completed the specialty training in Obs and Gynae in the University Hospital of Patra. As a specialty trainee he was given the opportunity to engage with various fields of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, including high-risk pregnancies, fetal medicine, subfertility, female endocrinology, cervix pathology, urogynaecology and gynaecologic oncology.
Due to his interest in subfertility and assisted conception, he then worked for one year as a clinical and research fellow in St Mary’s Hospital IVF Unit in Manchester, UK, under the supervision of world famous Professor Mr. Luciano Nardo. During his stay in the UK, doctor Gryparis attended several scientific meetings (RCOG amongst others), whereas he contributed in the unit’s research work by publishing in medical journals specifically regarding endometriosis. In addition, he acquired excellent knowledge in the field of subfertility (investigation and treatment) and became familiar with performing various diagnostic as well as therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The British Fertility Society granted doctor Gryparis with Pelvic Ultrasound Accreditation in June 2011.
His return to Athens in the summer of 2011 was followed by the opening of his own clinic in Piraeus, where doctor Gryparis works as a private Obstetrician – Gynaecologist till this day.
Since Dr Gryparis is always seeking novel treatments for his patients he showed particular interest in the field of cosmetic gynecology and within 2017 became accredited for performing non-surgical aesthetic gynecological procedures such as laser vaginal rejuvenation and genital lifting.
Doctor Gryparis is an Editorial Member of the international Gynecological Journal “EC Gynecology”, and has joined numerous postgraduate seminars and conferences both in Greece as well as abroad. He has published widely in international and Greek conventions. He is also a Member of Hellenic Obstetrics and Gynaecology Association, British Fertility Society (BFS), European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) and European College of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery (ECAMS).
